Amazfit has officially launched its first Cheetah 2 series for runners and brought some new features over the Cheetah Pro. Earlier this week, the smartwatch was leaked with its promo images and price, which has now been revealed in an official announcement. The Amazfit Cheetah 2 Pro features a 1.32-inch AMOLED display packed inside a 48 mm case. Despite the larger case size, the smartwatch supports relatively narrow 20 mm straps, which should make it easier for users to swap bands without adding extra bulk.
These days, Amazfit is launching big screen watches like Amazfit Bip 6 &T-Rex Ultra 2, and it continues that trend with this new watch. If users have another pair of watches, then they can try those straps with Cheetah 2 Pro. The design continues to focus on runners, but this time with a more refined and durable build.
Amazfit Cheetah 2 Pro Offers 1.32-inch Display & 3000 nits brightness
One of the biggest highlights of the wearable is its display. Amazfit has upgraded to 3,000 nits of brightness, which makes it one of the few watches to have it. It will help runners and other athletes in their outdoor activities. The display also carries a 466 x 466 resolution and a pixel density of 353 PPI, ensuring sharp visuals across watch faces, maps, and fitness data.
It runs for 20 days in normal mode
Battery life is another area where Amazfit has really worked hard. The Cheetah 2 Pro comes equipped with a 540 mAh battery. According to the company, it can deliver up to 29 hours of usage with GPS enabled, which is a key factor for runners and athletes. In regular smartwatch mode, users can expect around 7 days of battery life, while moderate usage can stretch it up to 20 days. This makes it a reliable companion for both daily use and long training sessions.
Under the hood, Amazfit has included its in-house 5PD PPG heart rate sensor, which should improve accuracy in tracking heart rate and overall health metrics. The smartwatch also uses an Airoha Technology AG3353 GNSS module for enhanced positioning and route tracking.
Other Amazfit Cheetah 2 Pro Notable Features
Furthermore, the Cheetah 2 Pro includes a built-in speaker and a digital microphone, allowing for basic smart features like voice calling and alerts. The watch also comes with 5 ATM water resistance, making it suitable for swimming and other water-based activities.
Durability has also been improved with the inclusion of sapphire glass, offering better protection against scratches and accidental damage. Another interesting addition is a built-in LED flashlight, a feature typically seen in higher-end sports watches like Garmin watches, adding extra utility for outdoor training and low-light conditions.
When it comes to pricing, the Amazfit Cheetah 2 Pro has launched in the UK at €449, which is more than users had expected. In the US, it is priced at $449. However, this still marks a noticeable price increase, making the new model around 50 percent more expensive than the original Cheetah Pro when it launched in mid-2023.
After the Amazfit T-Rex Ultra 2, it is another expensive smartwatch from Zepp Health. It is sure, the company wants to target most of the Garmin & COROS watches, but existing users might not like this idea. When I posted leaked prices, many users on Reddit were surprised to see the huge price gap in Cheetah 2 Pro and other Amazfit watches.
