Leaked iOS 26.5 screenshots reportedly suggest that Amazfit users on iPhones may soon get smart notifications and use previously locked features in iOS 26.5. These include smart notifications, notification forwarding, and better pairing support. The lifting of the restrictions means Amazfit users could receive full messages on their watches and reply to them, just like on Android phones. Furthermore, WhatsApp notifications and emails are expected to display the original message along with images, emojis, and other content.
Smart Notifications on iPhones
Amazfit watch users with iPhones have always been concerned about the lack of smart notifications and other limitations. Unlike Android, Apple never allowed Amazfit or other wearable users to receive smart notifications or reply to them with text, images, or even simple emojis. Remember older fitness trackers that only let you read basic text messages on the screen? That is the same experience Amazfit users have always had on Apple devices.
New Notification Forwarding & Pairing
If Apple brings these features in iOS 26.5, Users could disable notification forwarding for individual apps for privacy purposes. This setting can be managed from Notifications > Forwarding on iPhones. Additionally, with the iOS 26.5 update, Apple may simplify the pairing process for third-party smartwatches and fitness trackers. If a user disconnects their iPhone and pair it with another device, they could reconnect it to the iPhone again without much hassle.
When Will the New Update Arrive?
These new features may first roll out in the EU region, and there is currently no information about availability in other countries. Also, note that even if Apple opens the door, it is up to Amazfit to take advantage of these changes and release a new update with these features. Users in the EU region may soon expect a new firmware update for their Amazfit watches.
