The Amazfit Cheetah 2 Pro has just started reaching users, and already, its first software update is here. Firmware version 3.8.0.5 is now rolling out in major countries. The firmware update size is under 20MB, so it’s quite small, but the features added are actually quite useful. This is a smart move from Zepp Health. Giving an update right at the beginning improves the overall experience and clearly shows what the watch is focused on, especially for serious runners.
Running features take centre stage
The main highlight is Hybrid Training support. This gives structured workout plans that help improve performance without overtraining. For users who are regularly doing workouts or preparing for events, this is quite helpful. Another important addition is lactate threshold testing. This feature was earlier available on premium models like Amazfit T-Rex Ultra 2 and Amazfit Active 3 Premium, and now bringing it here is a good step. If you’re training seriously, this kind of data can really help you understand your limits better.
There’s also TrainingPeaks integration with marathon plans. Many runners already use third-party apps, so syncing schedules becomes much easier. Along with this, the new Training Calendar view shows upcoming sessions in one place. It’s a simple feature, but very useful when you’re following a proper routine.
Small features, but actually useful

Some smaller updates are also quite practical in day-to-day use.
Equivalent Pace adjusts your pace for uphill routes, so you don’t feel your performance has dropped suddenly.
Race Time Prediction gives an estimated finish time based on your recent activity. Equipment Management helps track shoe mileage automatically, which saves effort as doing it manually can be a bit of a task.
Navigation improvements
Navigation also gets some nice improvements.
- Off-course alerts are now faster and more accurate.
- Turn-by-turn directions respond more quickly than before.
- Maps now show better terrain details and contour lines.
These are not major changes, but when you are actually out running, you will notice the difference.
Other useful changes
The always-on display timeout is increased to 15 seconds, so you don’t need to raise your wrist again and again.
Sleep tracking has been improved with updated algorithms. Music and podcast playback is now available globally, which is good because earlier it was limited in some regions. Launcher 2.0 improvements make the overall navigation smoother.
Overall, this is a solid first update. The Cheetah 2 Pro is clearly made keeping runners in mind, and this update supports that direction. If you have already got the watch, you can check the update in the Zepp app, it should be available now.
